A promise is a promise!

A new addition to the family!
The boys and dad have wanted a big dog for a long time, but Mom didn't want a big dog. Well, Mom and Dad had made a promise to the kids before the season had started. If someone hit a Home Run over the fence, they could get a big dog. (We knew it was possible, but didn't think it would really happen!) Since Marshall did his part, Mom and Dad had to follow through with their promise. So today, June 2nd, Rookie, a Golden Retriever, is now an official Johnson family member. Pictures of the new addition will be posted soon.

It's been awhile !

A ton has happened since my lost entry, so bear with me this will be lengthy:
Kelsey's
team, Orlando No Fear - Red, came in fifth in Wellington and had a 3-1 record for the weekend. On Memorial Day weekend the team won the 14B Championship game! Way to go! Kelsey is practicing volleyball at the High School during the summer (she needs something to do).

Mackenzie's
team, Orlando No Fear - Black, won the Championship game in Wellington. They got the opportunity to play Caloosa Park Lightning and West Pines Diamond Dusters (Teal) to get to the Championship game. A tough tournament. On Memorial Day weekend the Black team won another Championship against the Tampa Mustangs - Frank. What a great game.

On May 21st, Mackenzie had the opportunity of a lifetime. She tried out for the Olympic Softball team! Dot Richardson, 2 time Olympic Gold Medalist, spent time with Mackenzie to prepare her for the tryouts. Mackenzie did extremely well. She fielded every ball and was hit very well. Several people came up to Stephanie and asked "How old is your daughter?" They couldn't believe she was only 13. One coach asked if she was interested in playing on an 18U team. Scores will be sent out sometime in July and in August invitations to the next level of tryouts will be sent. We are so very proud of her!

Marshall's AAU team Best 9 played the AAU State Championship on May 19th through the 21st. Friday night, the team lost their first game, and the next two games were going to be even harder! If the team didn't do well, they can't advance to the final rounds on Sunday. Well Saturday the team came out to play and won both games. This put them in the final 8. The team then went on to win two more time to put them into the Championship game! We were proud to say the least. The team had to play 3 straight games on Sunday, and just didn't have enough to pull off the win, but 2nd place in States is awfully good!

Marshall also played ball with Winter Springs Babe Ruth. In the Top Team tournament, his team came in 1st place overall! They only lost two games all year long. In the Championship game, Marshall was the second batter in the lineup. With the first pitch, Marshall hit one over the fence for a Home Run and to start the game off in the lead. AWESOME! The team went on to win the whole thing.

Harrison's
WS Babe Ruth team finished third in the End of Year tournament. They did very well and Harrison has become one of the best catchers in the league. Go Harrison!
